History:
The foundation of the former building of a premonstratensian wash house (economic headquarters) consists of a ground-floor house from the beginning of the 17th century. However, the exterior of the building is a result of an extended reconstruction from the third quarter of the 18th century. According to the layout of the ground floor, the building was constructed during late Renaissance reconstructions of the canonry. This is supported by a prospectus by Filip van der Boshe from 1606, as well as Ouden-Allen's prospectus from the years 1680 - 85. In the first half of the 18th century, Ditzler's view of Strahov shows the building as we know it today, as a one-storied building with a saddle roof and a triangular gable. The building was named "lotorium", i.e. the Wash House.
