The club room was by far the best option
We stayed in a club room and, after reading reviews before booking, we didn’t regret it. This room category offers its own beach, lounge area, pools, higher-quality service, and a richer reef. At the club beach, they serve fresh mango juice and hand out fresh mango, provide a small chest with ice, pastries, and fruits, lay out towels, the sand is pleasant and fine, the pier provides easy water access, and the reef is beautiful. In the lounge, there’s a separate breakfast with lightly salted salmon, orange juice, decent coffee, and some alcohol. The staff are ready to help with anything—we even got cinnamon. In the evening, the lounge offers snacks, and throughout the day fruits and drinks are available. We didn’t use the club pools.
The room was spacious; ours was on the ground floor. Some areas could use renovation, but overall everything was fine. Cleaning wasn’t daily, but done well. We liked that there was plenty of water available.
The hotel has a large territory with multiple levels. You can move around by elevator or on foot. There’s a lot of greenery and several pools. We also visited the regular beach—its reef isn’t as nice as the club’s, the sand is coarser, and you have to go down a wobbly pontoon to reach the water. There were also constant queues for showers and towels, and drinks and snacks seemed to be paid separately.
The food in the main restaurant was good: grilled fish, kebabs, plenty of salads and pastries. It would have been great if there were more fresh vegetables (available were iceberg lettuce, arugula, tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers) and more seafood, but overall we weren’t left hungry. We didn’t try the à la carte restaurants.
The hotel organized some activities like fire dancing and discos, but we weren’t very interested in those. There weren’t enough chill-out spots in the evenings since the beaches close, and there were hardly any benches or hammocks in the garden—this was a downside. Also, music from Park Regency doesn’t reach the club area, but unfortunately the music from one neighboring hotel is very loud and awful, which slightly spoiled the experience.
I also tried the diving school; the instructor, Adam, was very caring and engaged. He showed me clownfish and gave a really nice, scenic dive. It’s a pity I started late; otherwise, I would have taken a mini-course of three sessions.
The staff were very polite, didn’t bother us, and didn’t push anything (except for the hotel shops’ promoters). However, we weren’t around the hotel much.
Overall, we really liked the hotel and can’t wait to come back
