Simple cheap hotel
If you are looking for a sterile, five-star luxury marble palace where everything goes according to plan, keep scrolling. But if you want an authentic Egyptian adventure complete with architectural time-travel, Olympic-level sun lounger gymnastics, and a diet consisting entirely of carbs and determination—welcome to the Empire. The Location & Vibe (3.5/5) The location isn't bad at all. It’s right in Hurghada, close enough to town if you feel brave enough to brave the local driving style (which makes Mario Kart look like a Sunday stroll). The resort itself has a vintage charm. By "vintage," I mean it feels like it was designed in 1985 by someone who had only ever heard of a beach resort described over a bad telephone line. The Room: A Time Capsule (3/5) We booked a standard room, and walking into it felt like stepping into an alternate universe where the 1990s never ended. The furniture has character—mostly because it looks like it has survived several revolutions. The Air Conditioning: A roaring beast that sounds like a jet engine taking off, but hey, it kept the room at a crisp Siberian temperature. The Bathroom: Let’s just say the showerhead had its own unique ideas about which direction water should flow. My husband spent half the week playing amateur plumber, which gave him a great sense of accomplishment. Food & Drink: The Carbohydrate Chronicles (2.5/5) Ah, the all-inclusive buffet. A place where hope goes to simmer.
The food is entirely edible, provided you enjoy pasta, rice, and bread in every possible configuration. The chefs treat spices like classified government secrets, so everything is delightfully mild. Pro-tip for my husband: Never make eye contact with the guy carving the chicken, or he will give you a piece that is 90% bone. The Drinks: Served in plastic cups that hold approximately three sips. By day three, my husband was carrying three cups at a time just to cut down on the cardio trips to the bar. The local wine tasted like vinegar that had a brief, unhappy encounter with some grapes, so we stuck to the beer and the local spirits (which can double as industrial paint stripper if needed). The Beach & Pool (4/5) This is where the resort actually shines! The Red Sea is stunning—clear, warm, and full of colorful little fish that don't seem to care about your hotel complaints. However, claiming a sun lounger requires the tactical genius of a military general. If you aren't down by 7:00 AM securing your territory with a towel, you’ll be sunbathing on a pebble. The pool area is nice, though the water had a mysterious warmth to it that made us wonder if the pool filter was powered by good intentions and a dream. Service & Entertainment (3.5/5) The staff are absolute troopers. They work grueling hours in the heat and still manage to smile, even when dealing with guests who are irate that the Wi-Fi only works if you stand on one foot facing Mecca while whispering a prayer. The animation team tries so hard. Water aerobics in the pool looked suspiciously like synchronized drowning, but the enthusiasm was infectious. {удалено модератором: несанкционированная реклама} The Verdict Would we return? Probably not. Do we regret going? Absolutely not! For the price we paid, we got a sun-soaked getaway, plenty of laughs, and a renewed appreciation for modern plumbing and home-cooked meals. If you go, lower your expectations, pack an extra sense of humor, and enjoy the Red Sea!
