In general good, but better be prepared. ;)

General:

Kuredu is a nice place to spend a few days. We spent our honeymoon there. It was a good choice, because the island is big (second biggest resort on the Maldives) and you can find a lot of things to do there. But if you are not an all-inclusive guest, you might need to pay extra for pretty much everything, except for billiard in Babuna bar, kayak, Behind-the-Scenes excursion, the gym and a few free trials.

Our white seaplane was not the newest anymore. We tried to take off but the plane made emergency sounds and the captain decided it was not fit to fly. They tried to find us a different plane but at one point just told us, that the weather is not good enough to fly and that this is not their fault. So they brought us to a nearby resort by speedboat. The speedboat ride was quite rough because of the waves, the replacement resort where we spent the first night was very nice though.

About half of the guests are German speaking, followed by English and French.

The advertised infinity pool is only accessible if you book a watervilla or upgrade to "all-inclusive GOLD".

Honeymooners get compliments: 2 t-shirts (may not be available in your sizes), champagne, sweets and bed decoration

Prices:

Everything is a "little bit" overpriced: snorkel: USD 38, sunscreen: USD 28, photoshoot 50 photos: USD 250, snorkel plus mask plus fins rental: 11 USD/day.

Some trips are available and cost ~ 55 USD per 4h trip (those are the cheapest).

At the last day after checkout at 12:00 you are not considered a guest anymore. So you cannot have lunch, use the pool, etc. until your seaplane takes you to Male in the afternoon or evening. You can only use the Araam lounge and it's bathroom. At least you can ask for a free new wifi-password at the reception.

Food and Drinks:

In general the food is ok. There are flies because it's an open air restaurant. The variety of fresh food is a bit limited, as they grow it on their farm islands (we had almost no bananas). If you booked full-board (breakfast, lunch, dinner), you will only get plain water, black tea and coffee during meals (plus juice and different teas for breakfast) and only plain water during daytime.

In the restaurants the waiters serve you water from refilled bottles. You should always smell on your glass, because it happened to us more than once that it smelled very bad. We had some belly aches before we found out that we need to check the water before drinking it.

Bungalow:

The garden bungalow is ok. The bathroom was not super clean and it's open air, so all insects can bite you easily. The "mini garden" in the bathroom is wasting much space, that you can not really use. A bigger bathroom instead would be so much better.

To get warm water for the shower you needed to wait very long and waste a lot of water like that. The soap and shampoo comes in unpractical bottles, not in dispensers.

The bed was comfortable enough. Airconditioning was working flawlessly.

You get 4 refilled bottles of water per day. They clean, recycle and refill these glass-bottles by themselves and exchange them when they are empty.

They are not really sealed and don't have an expiration-date. So you can never know how old the water in the bottles is and whether it is still good to drink.

The internet is limited to 500 MB per day per person and you can only really use it in your bungalow.

Waterlife:

Pay attention to nesting triggerfish. They have quite a lot of them an they can get aggressive when they protect their nests in the seagrass.

One was fighting and trying to bite my wife out of nowhere.

Suggestions:

Bring all what you might possibly need, because the prices on the islands are ridiculous (clothes, diving gear, sunscrean, medicaments, cosmetics).

Be careful with drinkable water, as it gets bad fast in this climate. Best to drink only from sealed bottles.

You can pay everything by creditcard, but for tips you might want to bring some USD in cash.

Pros:

- very practical jetty:

seaplanes can be boarded directly

you can see sharks in the dark with a flashlight

teahouse at the end with illuminated water

you can walk to the house reef

- big island with many diffent attractions

- nice and friendly staff

- beautiful place

- wreck near the house reef (deep, so mostly for divers)

- more than enough food during meals

- honeymooners compliments: 2 t-shirts, champagne, sweets and bed decoration

Cons:

- always smell at the water before you drink it

- overpriced

- not for you if you search for a calm little island

- variety of meals could be wider (quite repetitive meals)

- most corals are already dead

- we often had to wait for water and tea in the restaurant: self-service would be more practical

- the many coconut-trees with a lot of coconuts are dangerous: if a coconut falls on your head it's Game over

- after checkout you are not considered a guest anymore

- for full-board bookings: only water, black tea and coffee during meals (plus juice and teas for breakfast) and only plain water during daytime

- old and unreliable and therefore possibly dangerous seaplanes

- infinity pool only accessible for watervilla or "all-inclusive GOLD" guests
