GENERAL DESCRIPTION
When visiting Kalambaka, the place to visit at least once in a lifetime, are the rocky formations of Meteora. In pure translation Meteora means suspended and that is the feeling you get when you reach the monasteries at the top of these enormous, rocky formations. For almost a thousand years, they have been creating a unique spectacle.
Amalia Hotel is a beautiful setting just minutes away from the town of Kalambaka. The hotel is embedded on 14 acres of greenery and has been built with traditional materials to match its surroundings. This beautiful scenery is completed with running waters, extensive gardens, a large swimming pool and views to the Meteora rocks. The moment you enter the hotel’s magnificent lobby, a warm feeling embraces you, with the wooden and iron details, the handmade kilims, and the fire places of the café and the piano bar.
The café is located on the lobby level, overlooks the swimming pool and is a pleasant and warm all day venue. The piano bar on the lobby level as well, is the perfect place for lounging in the evening. Theopetra and Polythea restaurants are on the ground level and extend views to the internal garden with its running waters.
The hotel’s 170 well-appointed guestrooms and 2 suites are spread over three levels and offer relaxing views over the green gardens or the gigantic rocks. The guestrooms and suites are spacious, furnished with dark wood furniture and fabrics in warm earthy tones.
