Place: Zannos Melathron Hotel (melathron means mansion in Greek) was built in the 19th century by Michael Zannos, a master of the time. Along with an adjoining renaissance architecture villa built in 1750, the two buildings comprise a brand new deluxe hotel. Both buildings have been proclaimed preserved cultural and architectural monuments by the Greek State. Their restoration has been supervised by the ministry of culture and the artistic coordination of Mr. Giannis Tseklenis. The hotel is situated on Pyrgos, the highest location on the island, at the entrance of the medieval castle of Kastelli, enjoying an unobstructed view of the entire island and the Caldera at the distance.
